Campervan Hire Sunshine Coast — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does campervan hire cost on the Sunshine Coast? Woodstock (Opus OP4 off-road camper trailer, sleeps 6 inside plus 4 in the annexe) is from $150 per day, or $200 per day over school holidays and peak holiday weekends. Vamuz (2026 GWM Cannon XSR 4x4 with rooftop tent, sleeps 5) is from $200 per day. Prices are before Camplify booking fees and insurance, which are added at checkout. 3-day minimum hire on both, unlimited km and no bond.

Is it hard to drive or tow for the first time? Not at all. Vamuz (2026 GWM Cannon XSR) drives like a modern SUV, just a little longer, with lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, reverse camera, parking sensors and collision avoidance. Woodstock (Opus OP4) is a tow-behind camper trailer with electric brakes that plug into your tow vehicle's 7-pin socket. Your tow vehicle needs a towing capacity of at least 2 tonnes and an electric brake controller fitted (we don't lend one), or you can book Vamuz to tow it. No special licence is needed, and we do a full walkthrough at pickup.

What's included in the hire? All hires include cookware, Jetboil with coffee plunger, cutlery, lights, water, external camp cooker, table and camp chairs, linen, blankets, towels and pillows. Woodstock sleeps 6 inside plus 4 in the annexe, with a club lounge, two double beds in two sleeping pods, a slide-out kitchen, 75L fridge/freezer, lockable shower box, diesel heater and air con on shore power. Vamuz includes the rooftop tent, two double swags (free), recovery gear, 60L water, porta-potti and hot shower.

Can I take a campervan to Rainbow Beach or Double Island Point? Yes. Vamuz (2026 GWM Cannon XSR 4x4) is set up for beach driving and off-road tracks including Rainbow Beach and Double Island Point. Woodstock (Opus OP4) is off-road ready too, with mud-terrain tyres and a hot-dip galvanised chassis, towed by a vehicle with at least 2 tonnes towing capacity (or book Vamuz to tow it). Hirers are allowed to drive on the beach; for cover, refer to Camplify's insurance.

Can I take the van to K'gari (Fraser Island)? Yes. Vamuz (4x4) is the right van for K'gari, and Woodstock can go too, towed by a suitable 4WD with at least 2 tonnes towing capacity (such as Vamuz). You'll need a vehicle access permit and camping permit via QLD Parks. Beach driving is allowed; check Camplify's insurance cover before you go.

Where do I pick up the campervan on the Sunshine Coast? All pickups are from Warana on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, and pickup there is free. We also deliver to Sunshine Coast Airport ($45 each way), Brisbane Airport ($225 each way) and Gold Coast Airport ($405 each way), and elsewhere in South East Queensland for $45 per 15 minutes' drive from Warana, each way. Standard pickup is from 6:00am and drop-off before 9:00pm.

How long can I go off-grid in the campervan? Woodstock carries 160L of water and runs off a 200Ah lithium battery topped up by solar and DC-to-DC charging while you tow, built for extended off-grid stays. Vamuz can go up to 4 days. Both are sent out fully charged.

Do you offer one-way campervan hire from the Sunshine Coast? Yes, subject to availability. One-way fees: Sydney $1,000, Melbourne $1,500, Cairns $1,500. Other destinations are quoted on request.

What are the rules and fees? Drivers must be 25 or over. Unlimited km. No bond (Camplify handles security). Pets are welcome in both vans for $40 per booking. Smoking or vaping inside carries a $250 detail fee. 3-day minimum hire on both vans.
